Built for the first critical hours
AutoWatch gives a verified vehicle owner a structured way to publish a clear public alert quickly, share it widely and receive sighting information from the community. The goal is simple: make accurate vehicle information easier to find and easier to act on safely.
The AutoWatch process
Vehicle owners register with AutoWatch and complete the required account security steps before sensitive vehicle actions are available.
Record the plate, VIN or chassis number, make, model, year, colour, body type, identifying features and useful vehicle photographs.
Ownership evidence is reviewed before the vehicle can be used to activate a theft alert. Ownership documents remain private and are not published on the public alert.
Once eligibility is confirmed, the owner can publish a public alert containing the information people need to recognize the vehicle.
Anyone can submit a sighting with location, direction of travel, notes and an optional photograph. AutoWatch records the lead and notifies the owner.
When the vehicle is recovered, the owner can mark it recovered so the public lookout ends and stale alerts do not continue circulating.
What AutoWatch does not do
- It does not identify suspects from photographs.
- It does not replace a police investigation.
- It does not publish private ownership documents, contact details or full VIN information on public alerts.
- It does not encourage confrontation, pursuit or vigilante activity.
Help the right people see the right information
AutoWatch works best when vehicle information is accurate, sightings are reported promptly, and everyone keeps safety first.
