Using AutoWatch responsibly
AutoWatch is designed to distribute vehicle alerts and collect sightings. It is not a substitute for law enforcement.
Truthful reporting
You may only activate a theft alert when you are authorized to report the vehicle and reasonably believe the information submitted is accurate. False, malicious, retaliatory, or misleading reports are prohibited.
Public sightings
Sightings are community-submitted leads and may be unverified. Do not treat a sighting as a direction to pursue or confront a vehicle or person.
Safety
Do not chase, block, detain, threaten, approach, or confront anyone because of information displayed through AutoWatch. Contact the appropriate authorities when immediate intervention is required.
Alert status
AutoWatch will not describe an alert as police or law-enforcement verified unless that verification has actually occurred. AutoWatch may suspend, dispute, or remove alerts that appear fraudulent, abusive, unsafe, or inaccurate.
Account responsibility
Users are responsible for protecting their account credentials and for promptly reporting suspected unauthorized account access.
