AutoWatch privacy notice

AutoWatch separates public alert information from private account and ownership information.

Information used by AutoWatch

AutoWatch may process account details, vehicle information, ownership evidence, theft alert information, sighting information, uploaded media, and technical security records required to operate and protect the service.

Public information

Public vehicle alerts may display vehicle photographs, licence plate, make, model, colour, identifying features, last-seen information, alert status, and public sighting information. AutoWatch does not intentionally publish private ownership documents, full VIN or chassis numbers, account email addresses, mobile numbers, or home addresses on public alert pages.

Ownership documents

Ownership evidence is restricted to authorized AutoWatch administrative review and is used to verify that a person is entitled to activate an alert for the vehicle.

Safety and abuse prevention

AutoWatch maintains audit and security records to protect accounts, investigate misuse, and preserve the integrity of vehicle alerts and sightings.

Contact and corrections

Users should contact AutoWatch administration to request correction of inaccurate account or vehicle information, dispute an alert, or raise a privacy concern.

Automated verification

AutoWatch may use automated analysis to review information submitted for account integrity, content safety, and vehicle ownership verification. Ownership evidence may be processed to compare visible details such as the registered owner name, licence plate, VIN or chassis number, make, and model with information submitted to AutoWatch. Automated review does not replace an official government registry check and uncertain cases are referred for administrator review.
